Description:

While the tune is based on a traditional Czech carol, this is one of Rory Cooney’s most powerful original texts. The piece would make a stunning Communion meditation, evoking images of joy at the infant Savior’s birth, while foreshadowing his sacrifice so that we might eat of the Living Bread. The piano provides support for the choral parts, but the piece may be sung a cappella; or, if circumstances allow, the use of the optional string quartet will add to the warmth expressed in the words and harmony of the singers.
