Give Us This Day is a very approachable work for advanced amateur players. Maslanka has written a work with a great deal of variety in color and timbre without the use of extensive ranges for any of the instruments.

There are significant solo parts for flute, oboe, clarinet, and alto saxophone. The piano part includes solo material, and while the part is not technically demanding, it requires the use of extended techniques, including plucking and strumming inside the instrument.

Percussion parts require two strong mallet players as well as confidence on a wide range of instruments on each part.
