Dinosaurs, composed for the Moscow Junior High School Wind Ensemble, was published in 1991.

It is an exciting, yet easily accessible piece that introduces aleatoric techniques to young players. After an extensive introduction, the piece is organized into five sections, each representing a different dinosaur.

Each section is relatively short, providing a complete contrast in tempo, meter, scoring, and aleatoric effect.

Dinosaurs is highly programmatic and presents many rhythmic and timbre concepts which will be new to young players.
