SATB, Solo Hallock’s composition is reminiscent of the style of Proulx’s “Prayer of the Venerable Bede” (mixed chorus singing a Latin text, supporting the stark declamation of a solo voice singing mostly in English). However, it is still its own piece. A strong alto or baritone soloist is required, as well as a choir with a talent for singing close dissonances.
