Description:
Mostly homophonic in the delivery of its Latin text, this is a setting of the ancient prayer to the Virgin. Although almost completely diatonic, the nearly constant eighth-note movement provides occasional moments of unsteadiness, hinting at what Mary might have felt when visited by the angel Gabriel.
