GLOBAL ENCOUNTERS FOR YOUNG CHOIRS is a NEW choral collection, curated and edited by visionary conductor and music educator, Doreen Rao. This fresh body of distinguished choral repertoire presents a “global style” series equally suited for concert performance, choral teaching and liturgy in the world today. Featuring a spiritually inspired body of classical and contemporary choral music, the new collection connects sacred and secular, East and West, ancient and modern. The series will include a focus on indigenous cultures, multi-generational music-making and repertoire inviting audience participation and congregational singing.
In the editor’s words, "Global Encounters choral collection is committed to concert performance and choral teaching as peace-making, an effort essential in developing cultural sensitivity and social consciousness in the world today."
