Stachowski, Zack

Zack Stachowski is currently the Director of Music at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Rochester, MN. As a liturgical composer with GIA Publications, Zack released his first collection in 2017, “God Never Tires”. Zack can be heard on violin, guitar, and vocals on many recordings released by GIA.

 

In May of 2017, Zack, along with Matthew Reichert, launched the successful podcast “Open Your Hymnal” which breaks open the most enduring and consequential songs of the Catholic liturgical repertoire through interviews with composers and commentary. OYH can be found on iTunes, Google Play, and Spotify. Zack, along with colleagues Matt Reichert and Jes Garceau founded the One Call Institute June of 2018. OCI is a yearly summer institute dedicated to the engagement and formation of young liturgical musicians and their adult advocates.

 

As an author, Zack has published several resources with Twenty-Third Publications on the topics of prayer, youth engagement, and sacramental formation. In the winter of 2020, the Archdiocese of Chicago adopted The Fire of Your Love, a virtual Confirmation retreat resource, co-authored with Matt Reichert, for use in parishes and schools throughout the diocese.
