Sally Ann Morris lives and works in North Carolina. Since 1990, she has composed hymn tunes, songs, and choral anthems, published by GIA, including three collections: Giving Thanks in Song and Prayer, (1998), to sing the Artist's praise, (2009), and Spread the Good News,(2016).
Many of her tunes, including a complete mass setting, Black Mountain Liturgy, are found in current GIA hymnals Worship, Fourth Edition; Gather, Third Edition; Lead Me, Guide Me, Second Edition, Gather Comprehensive, Second Edition, Ritual Song, Second Edition, and the 2018 One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism. Her tunes are also found in Glory to God, Community of Christ Sings, Lift Up Your Hearts, The New Century Hymnal, The Hymnal 21 in Japan, Church Hymnary 4, Hymns Ancient and Modern, as well as in other collections, hymnal supplements, and recordings, including the 2013 CD collaboration with Adam M. L. Tice, Walk in Peace.
Sally appears as a guest artist, clinician, composer, cantor, and conductor in churches nationwide, and at national conferences including The Presbyterian Association of Musicians Worship and Music Conferences at Montreat, NC, and The Hymn Society in the United States and Canada. She is Musician in Residence for the Wake Forest University School of Divinity in Winston-Salem, NC.
