Marilyn Shenenberger, collaborative accompanist and arranger, has been an integral part of James Jordan’s cutting edge work in the field of Choral Ensemble Intonation. She has written and recorded the Accompanist Supplement for The Choral Warm-up Core Vocal Exercises and is co-author with Dr. Jordan of Ear Training: Aural Immersion Exercises for Choirs, a book which provides intonation exercises and choral warm-ups in eight modes, with recorded keyboard accompaniments as well as printed harmonizations. Her latest publication, Learn to Listen, is designed to provide singers with a harmonic introduction to solfege.
Shenenberger holds a Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting from Westminster Choir College and a Bachelor of Music degree from LebanonValley College in music education. She is in demand as a clinician in Ear Training, Harmonic Immersion Solfege and Dalcroze movement, and serves as principal accompanist for Westminster Williamson Voices. She also holds a Dalcroze teaching certificate from the Dalcroze School of Music in Manhattanunder Robert Abramson. She has taught on the conducting faculty at Westminster Choir College, and has coordinated the Westminster Conducting Institute. She is a seasoned performer, and has worked collaboratively with a variety of vocal and instrumental soloists, and choral ensembles, here and inEurope. She has taught piano, vocal and instrumental music, eurhythmics classes, handbell workshops, and directed a variety of ensembles, including Musical Director for the Lamplight Players theatre productions at Burlington County College. In addition to accompanying and performing chamber music with Bel Canto Players, Marilyn is the Director of Music at Faith United Presbyterian Church in Medford, N.J. where she is organist and director of the children’s choir, youth choir, adult choir, and three handbell choirs.
