Johnson, Lane

Lane Johnson was born in 1958. He studied composition with Dr. Merrill Bradshaw, Dr. David Sargent, and Dr. Thomas Durham at Brigham Young University, where he received his degree in Music Composition and Theory in 1982. He also received a teaching certificate in Choral Music Education in 1986. He has taught choral music at both the Junior High and High School levels and has conducted various church choirs as well. Mr. Johnson's compositions and arrangements have been performed by University, High School, Junior High School, Church and Community Choirs throughout the world. His pieces have been performed at ACDA National and Regional Conventions and have also been featured in High School State Honor Choir programs. He has been commissioned to write several pieces, including works for multiple Brigham Young University choirs, the Northern Arizona University Shrine of the Ages choir, Utah Valley University choirs, and the Minnesota Mormon Chorale.

Mr. Johnson's music is published by Walton Music, Santa Barbara Music Publishing, Jackman Music, Embryo Music, and Lane Johnson Music. Lane is a member of ASCAP and the American Choral Director's Association (ACDA).

In addition to his free-lance work as a composer/arranger, he currently works as the Director of Development at a software company. He is married to Marcia Skousen Johnson and resides in Lindon, Utah.
