The strong and rhythmic setting of this Romans 8 text, uses the feel of 8 eighths, with the fourth and fifth tied, creating a forward moving syncopation. Verses 1 through 3 are for cantor, with choir punctuating the words “the Spirit of God.” Verse 4 is entirely choral, and in true Joncas fashion, the choral treatment of each refrain is unique.
