Rarely has a hymnwirter emerged so quickly and produced a large body of work in such a short time. Mary Louise Bringle’s first text collection, Joy and Wonder, Love and Longing, appeared in 2002. Now 75 more texts are found in this latest volume, many of which continue to be characterized by rich imagery and expansive language. Several new genres are also explored, including shorter devotional forms, and most notably, a number of translations of Spanish hymns.
