What Child Is This
Text Author : William Chatterton Dix
Arranger : Robert Batastini
pd; 2001, GIA Publications, Inc. (tune pd)
The assembly can sing this entire carol straight from their worship aids, despite the fact that this arrangement has somewhat of a light jazz feel and uses the SAB voices to embellish the tune. The accompaniment features a quasi-improvisatory flute solo throughout, over a very syncopated piano accompaniment. If one has the resources, a pizzicato string bass and snare drum with brushes would enhance this piece.
