This ambitious volume assembles into one place, for the first time, a comprehensive listing of 2,400 published solos with wind band accompaniment by more than 1,000 composers, organized by instrument.

Prepared by Eugene Migliaro Corporon and compiled and edited by Richard Miles, each listed work includes the title, composer, publisher, timing, year published, and available recording. Also included are biographies of each of the composers, with cross- references to works, publisher and personal websites, and other sources for additional information.

Corporon, Miles, and a team of contributors shed light on several questions including: What soloists or soli groups have received the most attention? How many historical periods are represented? Who have been the major contributors? What is the availability of recordings? How important is it to form creative partnerships with the great artists of our time to bring this important body of work to light?

This book is testament to the wealth of quality solo literature with wind band accompaniment. In the process of preparing this volume, the authors identified hundreds of new works and uncovered many lost and forgotten gems that have remained hidden for too long.
