God Will Wipe the Tears
Stephen Pishner
As the new hurricane season brings reminders of last year's destruction in the Gulf Coast it is important for us to realize that those affected by the devastation of last year's hurricanes still need our help.
Composer Stephen Pishner's song "God Will Wipe the Tears" was originally written as a song of comfort for those grieving the loss of loved ones. In response to the loss and devastation experienced by the victims of these natural disasters, he wrote additional verses in the hope that the song might, if only in a small way, give consolation to those experiencing so much heartache, suffering, and death. GIA Publications, Inc. and Stephen Pishner will contribute all proceeds from the purchase of this octavo to Catholic Charities for hurricane relief.
We encourage parishes to hold memorial prayer services for the hurricane victims and take up a collection for chari donations to Catholic Charities Hurricane Relief. We also hope that parishes will include "God Will Wipe the Tears" as an additional means of support to those still mending their tattered lives.
