CLASSIC SONGS and RHYMES
FOR YOUNG CHILDREN!
A Special Poem
Once upon a time
When our parents were small,
Adults began teaching them rhymes, songs and all.
They loved Tapping and Clapping, of that they weren't fickle,
But their absolute favorite was Wiggles and Tickles.
The Bounces were fun, riding on Mama's knee,
And the Simple Songs and Circles always filled them with glee.
And when the games were over, up to bed they would creep,
and with the sounds of sweet Lullabies, they were soon fast asleep.
But the small ones got bigger and moved far away
And forgot all the treasures they'd loved yesterday.
Then one day came a man who stumbled on an old thought
And the man was excited about the mem'ry it caught.
He talked to many parents, grandparents and such
And found that their memories were filled with so much.
These beloved old rhymes, lullabies, and some songs,
Are now going back to where they belong.
On the lips of a parent, in the thoughts of a child,
A time of hushed wonder, every face with a smile.
These books hold the treasures of so long ago
Rhymes, songs, and fun games we'll never outgrow.
Now warm childhood memories never shall end
