Marketing Director
GIA Publications, Inc., a leading publisher of liturgical music and music education resources, seeks a Marketing Director to spearhead its marketing strategy.
Responsibilities include:
- Formulate, direct, and coordinate GIA's marketing
- Manage three full-time staff members and several freelance consultants
- Enhance visibility of our publications
- Coordinate creation and execution of direct mail campaigns
- Maximize impact of website and other internet-based marketing tools
- Oversee display advertising campaigns and budgets
- Ensure that customer service department is adequately trained on products and resources
- Initiate market research; analyze and report findings
- Ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective completion of marketing projects and analyze their success
- Maintain strong relationships with composers, conference leaders, and dealers
- Plan, attend, exhibit at, and evaluate liturgical music and music education conferences
- Collaborate with editorial and art departments on product development and design
- Keep current with industry trends and news
What you need:
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in marketing, business, communications, or related area of study or equivalent work experience
- Five years marketing experience, some portion in management
- Approximately 20% travel required
- Ability to set and meet deadlines and budgets
- Ability to lead a team, both creatively and directionally
- Ability to evaluate promotional copy and design
- Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- High energy and positive outlook
- Creative thinking abilities
- Basic knowledge of music, music education, publishing, and Catholic/Protestant liturgy is ideal
- Knowledge of Internet, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Quark, and InDesign
