GIA Publications, Inc., a leading publisher of choral music and innovative music education resources, is honored to announce that the acclaimed Walton Music catalog, after well over 50 years, has joined the GIA family.

Walton Music(www.waltonmusic.com) serves the choral community by publishing some of the great choral works of the 20th and 21st Centuries, including works by Eric Whitacre, Ola Gjeilo, and Norman Luboff, as well as classics such as the quintessential edition of Vivaldi's "Gloria in Excelsis." The Walton catalog has more than 1,000 editions in print.

Gunilla Luboff, Publisher of Walton Music, said: "In GIA, I have found the very right organization for bringing Walton's growing catalog forward within a well-established structure. Keeping our distinguished composers and the catalog's commitment to musical quality in the forefront, I am confident that Walton will continue its healthy development in GIA's hands, both at home and abroad. For all this, I am excited and grateful to Alec Harris and his team!"

Alec Harris, President of GIA, said, "We are humbled by the opportunity to build on the Walton Music tradition. We are committed to being wonderful stewards of Walton, one of the truly great choral music catalogs, as well as of the wonderful composers and music that Walton represents. We look forward to a future of continued innovation and growth." GIA continues to be a leader in church music and liturgical music publishing, and has been a recognized publisher of cutting-edge music education resources, including a growing catalog of music for school and community choirs. "Walton Music will significantly expand our ability to reach school, university, and community choirs with incredible music," Harris said.

To ensure a smooth transition, the exciting new releases for 2014 will be presented by the Walton team. Hal Leonard will continue as Walton's distributor. To maintain the high standards of the Walton catalog and to continue to fulfill its mission, GIA will assign an editor with primary responsibility for its future development, supported by the highly respected Editorial Advisory Board of choral leaders.
