The sleigh bells are considered to be primarily a sound effect instrument suggestive of holiday themes, Christmas characters, and sleigh rides.

To Play the Sleigh Bells: A. B.      Grasp the handle with the bells pointed downward. Strike the top of the handle with your fist or open hand.
