Tony Alonso is one of the most prominent voices in contemporary liturgical music. His music reflects an understanding of the multicultural needs of the contemporary Church as well as a commitment to strong ritual music. In addition to several published collections of liturgical music, Tony’s music appears in numerous compilations and hymnals throughout North America.

Tony has shared his musical gifts as well as his knowledge of liturgy at conferences and events across North America and Europe.

In addition to his passion for sung prayer, Tony has a deep interest in engaging young people in the life and liturgy of the Church. He has authored several books on liturgy for youth and youth ministers with Saint Mary’s Press (Winona, Minnesota).

A graduate of Northwestern University with a degree in choral conducting, Tony currently serves as the Director of Music for the Campus Ministry Team at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California.
