Michael Mahler

Michael Mahler, from Minnetonka, Minnesota, is a graduate of Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, where he majored in music theater. At the age of 17, he became the youngest composer to be published by GIA Publications, Inc. Since then, Michael has performed his compositions and taken part in workshops at the National Association of Pastoral Musicians Conference (NPM), the Los Angeles Religious Education Congress, the National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC), and the National Conference on Catholic Youth Ministry (NCCYM).
Several of Michael's first pieces are featured on the recording, Give Your Gifts: the NEW Songs. His song "Hope at the Crossroads," from that recording, was chosen to be the theme song of the 2001 National Catholic Youth Conference. His top-selling song "Give Us Your Peace" was chosen as one of just fifteen songs on the compilation recording, With Faith, Hope, and Love: In Support of the Victims of Terrorism. Michael recently released his debut recording and collection with GIA, titled How Can We Be Silent? Cantemos al Señor / Let Us Sing to the Lord, a collection of Bilingual Psalms for Holy Week with fellow composer Tony Alonso was also released in 2003.
