Lynn Trapp

Since 1996 Dr. Trapp has served as Director of Worship & Music, Organist/Pianist, at St. Olaf Catholic Church in downtown Minneapolis where he directs an extensive program including radio and television broadcasts. In 2001, he led the installation of the 67 rank Lively-Fulcher pipe organ at St. Olaf and recorded the first CD on the instrument Recital in the City. He has conducted choir tours abroad to Austria, Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, Ireland, England, Holy Land, Spain, and Portugal.
Dr. Trapp is the winner of many academic and alumni awards including the prestigious National Presser Foundation Award and the international Spirit and Truth Award from the University of Notre Dame for his contribution to the field of liturgical music. He is co-director of the annual Conference on Liturgy, Music and Theology at St. John’s University, Collegeville, MN. He holds degrees from Southern Illinois University (BM), University of Notre Dame (MM), and after beginning doctoral work at the Eastman School of Music, he completed the DMA at the University of Kansas.
Dr. Trapp is also adjunct organ instructor for the Master of Sacred Music program of Luther Seminary, St. Paul, MN in cooperation with St. Olaf College.
