In addition to her duties as Director of Music Ministries at Lord
of Life Lutheran Church in Arizona, GIA composer Carla Giomo is
an adjunct instructor of music at Glendale Community College. Carla
graduated summa cum laude from the University of Denver
with her bachelor's degree in piano performance, continuing on to
earn her Master's degree there two years later. In 1992, she completed
her Ph.D. in Music Education at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
At her current position, Carla has built a solid music ministry
program, starting with a single choir and growing to four choirs
and a handbell choir. She also often presents recitals, and has
instituted a concert series during the winter months at her church.
