Dominic Trumfio

Dominic Trumfio is from Oak Park, IL and currently serves as Director of Music of St. Raymond de Penafort Church in Mt. Prospect, IL. His versatility as a keyboardist, choir director, and woodwind multi-instrumentalist has made him known within many music circles. Dominic completed church music/liturgy and flute performance studies at Northwestern University and the Liturgical Institute of Chicago (LIC). He has served on the music staff for the Archdiocese of Chicago and has been a workshop presenter and/or performer for the National Association of Pastoral Musicians (NPM), LA Religious Education Congress, and National Flute Association (NFA).

As a flutist and woodwind specialist, Dominic has recorded and performed with many GIA composers and artists. As part of these collaborations, Dominic is a featured soloist on the instrumental recordings Let Every Instrument Be Tuned for Praise (Bob Moore) and Water, Wind, and Soul (Jeanne Cotter). He can also be heard on other GIA recordings including Ancient Ways, Future Days (Liam Lawton), God Comes Tomorrow (John Bell), This Very Morning (Rory Cooney), Fresh as the Morning (Tony Alonso), and That You May Have Life (Marty Haugen). Dominic was also a featured soloist on flute and pennywhistle for the world premiere of Liam Lawton's The Shepherd Boy at Symphony Center (Chicago) with narration by Gregory Peck in 2000, and again in 2002 for Brigid of Kildare with narration by Joan Cusak.
